About Us
Located across from the fairgrounds in the heart of town, The Tunbridge General Store has been a community fixture since 1830, first operating as A.N. King and Son.
The store has evolved through several iterations and changes in ownership over nearly two centuries, but the focus has remained: providing quality food and goods to the town of Tunbridge and its visitors.
In addition to a stock of staples, the store is committed to providing locally sourced items and delicious food to our neighbors, guided by our core values of hard work, great service, and Tunbridge civic pride.
Reopened in 2022 under new management, The Tunbridge General Store is owned and operated by John and Erica Houston alongside a dedicated staff.
Whether you are stopping in because you live down the road, you’re traveling from afar to peep the changing leaves in the fall, because you’re a member of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints wanting to visit where Joseph Smith’s parents met, or simply because you’ve heard of us and want to see for yourself, we can’t wait to welcome you in.
And, as always, if you like us, please, Come Again.
